1st Saffron Walden Co Girls’ Brigade
"1st Saffron Walden Co Girls’ Brigade meet on Monday evenings at Saffron Walden Methodist Church from 6.00 - 8.00 pm. We are a Christian uniformed organisation and our girls are aged 5 - 18. We cover a badgework system which includes a variety of activities, eg cooking, games, craft etc.

We meet at the Lord Butler Leisure Centre at 8.00pm every Tuesday, come along and join us for a run.

We’re an enthusiastic bunch who work hard on having a varied and sporting programme. From ‘Duck’ tours, ‘lawn marbles’ to the more traditional speaker meetings/dinners we try and appeal to all.
We have a good age spread with 5 members under 25 who are bringing a fresher look to our meetings with new ideas and events. We have good camaraderie and fellowship with regards to sporting endeavours as recent carting events and the annual pilgrimage to the Lake District for the ‘Hike and Bike’ trophy attest.

Saffron Walden Scout District
In the Saffron Walden scout district we have groups in Saffron Walden, Newport, Thaxted, Clavering and Radwinter. There are several levels within the scout movement starting at Beaver scouts for 6-8 year olds, Cub scouts for 8-10 and a half year olds, Scouts for 10 and a half - 14 year olds and explorer scouts for 14-18 year olds.
