A little about Audley End Enchanted Railway.
Tucked away in the woodland of the Audley End estate, just along the road from Audley End House, this much-loved miniature railway has been delighting families since the 1960s. It was first built by Lord Braybrooke and has grown into one of the area's favourite days out for young children and railway enthusiasts alike.
Take your seat on a charming 10¼ inch gauge train and travel through the trees, over bridges and alongside the River Cam, hauled by a collection of miniature steam and diesel locomotives. The woodland is home to hidden fairy and elf houses, so keep your eyes peeled as you go, then explore the enchanted woodland walk on foot after your ride.
Throughout the year the railway hosts special themed events, with festive Santa trains at Christmas being a particular highlight, alongside seasonal celebrations such as Easter and Halloween. It's a perfect outing for little ones, and there's space to relax and enjoy a picnic between rides.
